What is your favorite medium and why?

I love this question because I feel like it tells you a lot about a person right away. They tell you their favorite medium and you get to make guesses about why it is their favorite and what that means for them as a person, and then you get to hear their answer and see if you were right or not and learn new things about them. My two favorite mediums are printmaking and pottery. I have always been able to get so lost in the focus of making something when I was practicing one of those two mediums and that ability to turn off my mind has made me really love them both. I have always been a chronic overthinker and I can really wind myself up if I am not too careful. Printmaking and pottery have always been a good way to turn off my brain or shift my focus from my problems and instead focus on creating something beautiful for myself and others to enjoy. Unfortunately, I have not been able to practice pottery since I graduated high school because I do not have the resources for the equipment or a local space with the equipment. I have been practicing printmaking still and have made some progress in my style I feel. Printmaking will probably always be my favorite medium because of the finished products I can create, but also because of the way it allows me to disconnect and decompress. What is your favorite medium?
